Liberty Helicopter's generosity

During my travels around New Jersey attending many legislative functions, I was lucky to meet Cliff Nolan, the PAC Director for the Teamsters in New Jersey. Cliff and I were conversing at an event for Rep. Bill Pascrell and Cliff told me about the sponsored trip the he puts together for terminally ill children from Australia. It's kind of like the Make-a-Wish Foundation where the kids get to do lots of great stuff while in the U.S. for a week or two. People, organizations and agencies from the area donate their time and resources to give them a trip to remember. They have been on the set of Law and Order: SVU with the cast, they get free rides and games at the Jersey Shore and even meet their favorite rock/pop stars and athletes. It's an amazing time!

Getting back to the title of this post, I approached Liberty Helicopter owner Patrick Day Jr. a few years ago and asked him to provide helicopter tours for the kids. Well, he was happy to help out and he donated his choppers for some great tours around Manhattan.

I went to Patrick again last week and asked him to help out for this year. He agreed and again donated helicopter time to the Teamsters' effort. This is huge because, as you know, the economy is rough and the tour helo business has to be taking its lumps. Even in light of that, Mr. Day helped out.

I'd like to thank Patrick Day and Liberty Helicopter for their generous gift to the Teamsters' sponsored kids and ask you all to remember this when dealing with Liberty in your daily operations. Please treat them with compassion and maybe say "thanks" from the controllers at EWR.

Fraternally,
Ray
