Dear Mr. Swanson,
As the exclusive representative of the NATCA Newark Local bargaining unit, I am proposing to establish a set schedule of meetings with you to discuss issues pertaining to the membership I represent. These meetings will allow us each the opportunity to exchange information and ideas and allow discussions on impact and implementation of management proposals. Obviously, as subjects of bargaining present themselves, we will establish ground rules and separate meetings to ensure bargaining is accomplished in good faith and within the bounds of the law.
I propose meetings every Tuesday and Friday at 11:00 am to conclude at noon and can be extended at the agreement of both parties. In order to provide you some convenience, I am willing to travel to the facility to meet in the conference room. If this is unacceptable, I can meet at the Starbucks Café in Union, NJ on U.S. Route 22 East. This is approximately 5 miles from the facility but 35 miles from my home. I am willing to accommodate you in this manner as a show of good faith.
I look forward to working with you cooperatively in creating the best operation and working environment possible. Please respond to this letter by July 13, 2009 in order to provide for effective representation of the bargaining unit.
Sincerely,
Raymond Adams
President NATCA EWR
